The Oklahoma State Parks Facebook page has posted a request for cleanup assistance at Lake Thunderbird State Park (near Norman).The May 10, 2010 Oklahoma tornado outbreak did an estimated $13 million in damage to property at Lake Thunderbird including widespread damage at the park.Oklahoma State Parks is asking for volunteer groups to assist with cleaning up the extensive tornado debris at the park.Here is the announcement:
Several weeks ago a tornado caused widespread damage at Lake Thunderbird State Park near Norman. Debris is still spread out along a large area. The park could really use help from groups or organizations who could volunteer time to clean up debris from the shoreline and around the trees.
